WEEKLY MUST-HAVE: Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser

WEEKLY MUST-HAVE: Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser

I love ending the week with a coveted beauty find… and I can’t wait to gush about my newest must-have:Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser. Besides being a natural product (which I am super into as of late), the daily face wash is also packed with alpha hydroxy acid in the form of natural sugar to slough away summer skin. And by summer skin, I mean anyone who spent even an hour outdoors while the sun was out in full force – we are all dealing with the harsh transition from summer (sun damage, congested pores due to sunscreen, and an overall dull complexion). Suki’s Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser is two fold: first, it has tiny sugar granules that will exfoliate dead skin and declog pores, second, add water and the light exfoliator turns into a gentle foaming cleanser to resurface, smooth and revitalize your complexion.

I first heard of Suki’s Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser from celebrity makeup artist Tina Turnbow (Mary-Louise Parker and Kerri Russell are clients), who mentioned it as one of her 5 must-have products. Said Turnbow, “with natural sugar and lemongrass, a treat for your senses and face.” Turnbow is a devotee of natural and clean beauty products. I was on a hunt for a cleanser that would work hard to decongest my congested skin and slough away the summer grime while also being gentle enough for daily use. And I am happy to report that I have found the perfect face wash!

I use this award-winning wash in the mornings because I use a retinoid at night so I don’t want to mix the two (although if you don’t use any retinoids, I’d suggest using this cleanser at day’s end). My skin literally glows after washing. I  follow up with a vitamin C serum (lightens, tightens and brightens!), moisturizer, eye cream and tinted SPF. The cleanser has a natural citrus scent (if you are allergic to fragrance, perhaps this isn’t for you — although the fragrance is derived from natural oils, so I find that it suits my sensitive skin just fine) and, as I mentioned, can be used as a daily face wash or a bi-weekly deep exfoliator. If you’re using it as your deep exfoliator, I suggest applying to dry skin so that the sugar can really get in there and remove your dead skin, add water after a minute of gentle rubbing to activate the foaming aspect (which is incredibly soothing).

All skin types except cystic acne and rosacea-prone skin can use this cleanser. I’m so in love with this wash that I’m reviewing more Suki products so be on the lookout for their clay wash, balancing day lotion and BB Cream, all natural, of course.

P.S. Be cautious with your portions as a little goes a long way (and the price is quite sensible for the amount of product). Goodbye summer skin!
