There’s a new kind of M.D. in town — Dr. Kiss — and he’s causing massive lip envy.

Dr. Kiss Satin Finish Balm is my newest go-to chappy for hydrating a dehydrated pout. It does everything I want my balm to do: smoothes, moisturizes and adds a hint of natural color. And then it does even more.

Brett Freedman, celebrity makeup artist and creator of VANITYMARK cosmetics, developed the balm as the perfect rescue to smooth the puckers of his precious clients. Brett has worked with celebs like Gwyneth Paltrow, Kelly Clarkson, Patricia Heaton and Vanessa Hudgens.

Now the G.P. (general population) is in on the secret.

I’m loving Dr. Kiss because Brett has so thoroughly covered all of the ground work. “When I formulated my version of the perfect lip balm, I had four major points in mind,” says Brett. And these four points really do catapult the kiss stick from just another chappy to almost-perfect cure-all.

1 – Beauty – “For a soft, satiny finish… not too waxy, not too greesy.” Agreed. My lips are smoother than a baby’s behind.

2 – Taste – “A touch of sweet vanilla,” Delish. “And refreshing mint flavor for a cooling zing.” Fresh breathe (bonus).

3 – Health – “Vitamins and antioxidants protect your lips… kukui nut oil locks in moisture.” This is definitely one of the most moisturizing balms without inducing a gloss effect. Perfect to wear under shiny lippies.

4 – Tint – “Remember those mood lipsticks from the ’80s? They would go on clear and turn pink on your lips? There is 4% of that active ingredient added to Dr. Kiss.” This is by far my favorite aspect of the chappy. When applied to your pout, the color alters ever so slightly to give you natural, baby pink lips.
