Want Thicker Brows? Tips for Fuller Arches
Remember when thin, skinny brows were in? Yeah, we don’t either. #Eyebrowsonfleek was probably the defining beauty hashtag of 2016, and will most definitely be sticking around. Thick arches flatter nearly every face shape and make us look younger, like Madonna in the ’80s. From Cara Delevingne to the Kardashians, full brows reign supreme.
Read on for tips to thicker, fuller brows…
1. Stop plucking, waxing, threading…
Obviously. Give those tweezers a rest and let your brows grow to the desired thickness, then you can tweeze a few strays to clean them up. Over-plucking is the main reason we’re left with embarrassingly thin and sparse arches.
2. Try castor oil or a brow enhancing gel.
Castor oil has been used to regrow hair, including brows, for ages. The fatty acids in castor oil stimulate follicles and trigger hair growth. Apply oil directly to brows and leave on overnight, wash off in the AM: easy. You can also try a brow-enhancing serum like Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Enhancing Serum Advanced ($38) or Peter Thomas Roth Brows to Die For Turbo Brow Treatment ($60) to achieve fuller brows with botanicals and peptides.
3. Fill ’em in.
Because we’re not all blessed with perfectly thick brows, luckily we can fake it. Find a brow pencil that flatters your brow color, not exactly matching it. It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil ($24) compliments any brow color so you can avoid looking like you’ve got velcro for eyebrows. You want to use light strokes to fill in thin areas: Brow powders work well for newbies, try Benefit Brow Zings Tame & Shape Kit ($24). Follow your natural shape when filling in and use some concealer or a highlighting pencil to clean up the edges.
