Valentine’s Day Gift Guide

Emotions aside, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, there’s no hiding that. While arguably a made-up Hallmark holiday, it’s impossible to ignore the day of love. Everywhere you turn, there’s a smattering of pink and red decor, men and women fondling for no apparent reason, restaurants with special V-Day menus, and heart-shaped everything. To put it mildly, cuffing season is in full bloom. Single or taken, embrace this holiday to the fullest by showing your loved ones just how much you care with a little token of affection and appreciation. Keep reading for our top V-day gift picks.

 For Him

Want to drop a not-so-subtle hint about that island getaway you totally deserve? Vianel NY Customizable Lizard Passport Holder ($250) is as good of an excuse as any to book a foreign rendezvous for two.

For the techie, help your man upgrade from his boring black phone case (yawn), with the super fly Native Union CLIC Wood iPhone6 Case ($40); it’s trendy but still macho.

For the more preppy dude, cufflinks are always appreciated. Robert Graham Pocket Watch Cuff Links ($148) have a vintage vibe that is bound to spruce up even the most typical blue-checked oxford.

For the man who cares about his complexion, he deserves better than drugstore basics, so upgrade him with Kiehl’s Men’s Refueling Kit ($46). It’s chock-full of the brands’ must-haves for guys, including shaving cream that you’ll most likely end up stealing.

For Her

Two things that are non-negotiable when buying lingerie: Tasteful and expensive. Dolce & Gabbana Lace-trimmed stretch-silk playsuit ($875) is all that and so much more.

Roses are red, violets are blue… yadda, yadda, yadda. One word: Basic. Try Petal by Pedal ($85 and up) for a chic and eco-friendly alternative flower delivery. If there were ever a day to send a bouquet, V-Day is it.

While perfume isn’t exactly an original gift, a unique and exotic scent can, at the very least, make it interesting. Valentino Valentina Assoluto Eau de Parfum ($90) is sensual and magnetic with alba truffle, jasmine, orange blossom, vanilla, and patchouli. Delicious enough to eat… which is what you’ll be thinking when she’s wearing it.

For the fashionista who can never have enough bags, try a personalized, monogrammed clutch from celebrity favorite Edie Parker. Don’t have the time or creativity to put her name on it? Opt for the Jean Hearts Acrylic Clutch ($1295) and be on-trend with the holiday of plentiful hearts!

For Your Single Girlfriend

The name of this jewelry line is (hopefully) and indication of what’s to come: Boy Meets Girl X Roman Luxe Funky Black Python Wrap Ring ($75). Even if it doesn’t somehow evoke a barrage of testosterone, at least she’ll be left with a cool ring (which would probably last longer than the dude).

Jewelry is usually reserved for the classic male-to-woman gift exchange, but your single girlfriend shouldn’t be left out of this age-old tradition. So, why not gift her a killer friendship bracelet that’ll fill that V-day void with Scosha’s Woven Diamond Bracelet ($185)?

Single ladies agree that Tinder and Hinge is seriously addicting. Pursoma Digital Detox Bath ($32) will help her put down the cell phone while releasing unhealthy, positively-charged radiation that our bodies accumulate with constant cell phone use. And it’ll get her to take a few deep breaths before swiping right (or left)…

For Your GBF (Gay Best Friend)

Because he secretly wishes someone would send him long stem roses, but that’ s out of your budget: Weleda Wild Rose Creamy Body Wash ($12) will do the trick.

Although you cherish your wine nights together, you don’t always have to finish the bottle (or second… or third!). Jonathan Adler Peace Hand Bottle Stopper ($24) is a festive way to put a cork in it.

Plain and simple, only someone as fabulous as him can actually pull this off: Perpetual Shade Velvet Eye Mask ($48). Get on it.
