Pharmacopia Natural and Organic Bodycare

By | body | 4 Comments

I am so excited about my latest bathing discovery: Pharmacopia Natural and Organic Bodycare is TO DIE! It’s made without parabens, sulfates, mineral oils, synthetic fragrances or dyes, and contains only the natural, most healthy ingredients.

I’m currently using the Verbena & Green Tea Body Wash, a deliciously unisex citrus smelling plant-based wash, and the Verbena & Green Tea Body Lotion (comes with a pump and all!). I love this fresh scent — and the boys do too — but if you are more in the market for something a bit floral you can choose from jasmine or lavender or there’s a citrus one too.

Also available in the line: hand cream in tubes or jars, fragrant bath salts and relaxing massage and body oils. The packaging is tres chic, almost reminiscent of C.O. Bigelow with its “at-home” remedy-like bottles and labels. And all of the products are so affordable ranging from 9.99 to 19.99.

The bath gel and body lotion retail for $11.99 and contain 20 percent certified organic ingredients! Peruse the website here and treat yourself to a new bathing experience! New Year, New You!

Treat Me Right: Sexy Bath Time

By | Uncategorized | One Comment

Bath’s are meant to be sexy. Period.

So read this post, grab your significant other and give them a bath they’ll (and you’ll) never forget.

Here are some pointers:

1) Rose petals are required. But try rose oil too! REN Moroccan Rose Otto Bath Oil will give you the allure of the rose scent with 100% natural fragrance. Great for sensitive skin.

2) Candles set the ambiance. Tone and mood are SO important when you’re bathing. Nothing creates sexy time like a couple of candles. Staying with our rose theme, try Diptyque’s Rose Candle ($65.00). Remember, lights out.

3) Bomb that bath. A bath fizzy — also known as the bath bomb — gives you, the water and your bath something to gush about. It makes everything all the more fun. Try Bath Bombs by Lush, the original! Surprise, surprise. You may even encounter a few flower petals or bubbles in the explosion.

4) Finish the bath with a dash of cool. There’s nothing like a bit of cold to counter the hot. At the end of your bath, let the cool water run while you drain the bath. This will lock in all of your essential oils and luscious scents!

5) Heat your towels. A cool rinse, a nice warm towel. Put towels in dryer prior to bathing for a spa-like, comfortably heated dry off.  You can douse the towel with a linen spray for extra fun. Try making your own. Click here to learn how.

What are some of your bathing secrets!?

BATH! Beauty

While on my quest for the most fabulous oils, I discovered some seriously savory bath treats. I now have an entirely new bathing ritual for my Sunday (everyday) bath time. Don’t you just love when that happens? Discovering new products is like hitting the jackpot. Okay, slight exaggeration, but only slight.

Here are my current feel, look and smell delicious bath time treats:

Start with a bath tea. I’m loving JK Soul Salts Tub Tea in Chamomile ($21.00). It combines real chamomile tea with bath salts and comes with a tea strainer. Drop the strainer into the running bath water and your on your way to bathing bliss.

Add a few splashes of a relaxing bath oil. Try Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Night Health Bedtime Bath Oil, a finely scented blend of chamomile, lavender and mandarin essential oils. As Dr. Weil put it, the oil is a “prelude to sleep.” And it makes for wonderfully smooth skin.

Use a gentle exfoliator to wash the body. I’m seriously obsessed with REN Moroccan Rose Otto Sugar Body Polish (30 pounds; British, baby)This light, beautifully rosy scented exfoliator rubs off just the right amount of dead skin while leaving the remaining epidermis revived, healthy and glowing. Not to mention smelling like the most beautiful dozen of long stem roses.
Massage-rub a body oil onto damp skin. With the above combo, I like to use Jurlique’s Rose Oil. It continues my rose/ tea experience and leaves skin so soft I feel like I’m drowning in silk.

For extra moisture, finish with a firming body lotion. The only one to use is Tracie Martyn’s Shaki Skin Cream ($155.00), a blend of herbal teas (again, tea and rose scents for the senses) and antioxidants. Proven to sculpt and contour legs, thighs, tummy and arms. It smells so delish and moisturizes so well, it’s almost too good to be true. Seriously.

Philosphy’s Newest Body Scent…

By | Uncategorized | One Comment

From the company that has brought you mouth-watering scents like Red Velvet Cake, Belgian Waffles and Spiced-Apple Cider, Philosophy debuts it’s newest scented wash, Caramel Apple. Just in time for Halloween too (bobbing for apples? see the resemblance?).

Philosophy’s Caramel Apple Wash is the perfect three-way (not, THAT kind of three-way, dirty minds) – it’s a Shampoo, Shower Gel and Bubble Bath all in one 16 oz bottle! Just like every other fabulous Philosophy Wash, the Caramel Apple is a high-foaming gel with a very distinct, heavenly scent.

The color is burned candy apple red and the smell is so infectious, so sweet, so delicious, it’s like I’m actually biting into the damn apple apple. Mind you, this isn’t your ordinary granny apple scent – this is thick and rich with a vivid burst of caramel goodness (interestingly, it’s warmer and sweeter than the more spicy and crisp apple cider scented wash).

This limited-edition Fall body scent creates quite a pang of hunger… thankfully, it’s a calorie-free indulgence! Allow me to create the scene: a hot bath, you, all lathered in the warmth of a creamy caramel apple. And then HE walks in, unbottons his black trousers… and SCENE!

PRICE TAG: $16.00 for 16 oz

**The caramel apple scent is also available in a limited-edition lip shine. Again, it’s calorie free! (okay, lame joke.)

Bath time is a highly regarded activity in my household (consisting of me and my Japanese Chin, Sadie Snow). I am obsessed with scrubs, washes, lotions, potions, balms, bubbles… and now TEA!

A Good Night Kiss Organic Tub Tea Blend
is literally just that, tea bags for the tub! The tin comes with 5 tea sachets, each “filled to the brim” with heavenly organic ingredients like spearmint, cinnamon bark, passion flower, tofu, shredded coconut, rolled oats and many, many more! All of the flavors are loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, herbs and extracts to replenish tired bodies and souls.

To receive the benefits of these herbal bath teas, all you have to do is place the tea bag into the running bath water and submerse yourself into the tub, close your eyes, relax and inhale the intoxicating aromas. The blend I tried, No.7, has a spicy cinnamon flavor. I left the bath feeling relaxed, revitalized and very soft (my skin, not my mind).

Each tea bag is meant to be used only once. The teas come in 9 incredible flavors. Click HERE to have a look!

PRICE TAG: $28.00 for a tin of 5 sachets

Bath Time Is ME Time!

By | Uncategorized | 2 Comments

I adore a great bath! After a long day with my head buried in my computer screen, a nice, relaxing soak, a scrub, maybe some body oil, and a velvety lotion are my dreams come true!

I use different products for different seasons. For instance, Kiehl’s Coriander body cleanser and lotion are my winter favorites. Something very nostalgic about the scent… it reminds me of junior high – early mornings and long days.
For Spring I wanted something fresh and tropical. Something… in full bloom. I went on a scavenger hunt through my containers of miscellaneous products and I finally found what I was looking for: ME! Not actually me, ME! Bath…. divine!
The shower sherbet is a gigantic tub (it looks like a container of ice-cream) of lovely sugar scrub that foams! It’s not a harsh scrub, so it’s perfect for everyday use. They have 16 delicious flavors but my favorite is Summer Rain. It’s a gooey green concoction with a fresh and breezy scent.
And then there’s the body icing… pure, moisturizing bliss. A combination of shea and cocoa butters, this lotion is like a souffle for the skin. It’s ultra soothing and hydrating. It comes in 14 flavors, each of them good enough to eat! I really love the Papaya Nectar – it’s tropical yet fruity.
The company also makes what they call, “bath ice creams,” which are balls in the shape of a hardened scoop of ice-cream. The “ice creams” fizz and melt when put them in water releasing minerals, Epson Salts, and a unique six blend of oils and fragrances (very much like the infamous Fresh Bath Bombs). With over 30 scents, it’s hard to choose a favorite although I’m really feeling the California Dreaming – a citrus and floral blend.
Whether you’re a musky person or a fruity one, you’ll find your Spring flavor in these incredible body products made exclusively for…. ME!

St. Valentine… Day 2

Exfoliation is good for the body, the soul, and the tender touch of your lover’s hand. Product Body (you remember them from The Best of Scrubs Week…) has recently launched two new limited-edition scents just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Crush on You, “the ultra plush sugar shea scrubby wash” is now available in the amazingly sexy Dark Chocolate Almond Scent and Sparkling Champagne.  Both come in 4.75 oz. jars and are sold together for the stealing price of $20.00!
What better way to spend the big day than with a tub and scrub!  Some candles, relaxing music, a nice bath and that incredibly hot man… (or scratch the latter and do it on your own)!  Either way, a bath is just what your body has on the mind…
And speaking of baths, also try Molton Brown’s Intoxicating Davana Blossom Foaming Bath Oil. Incredibly rich oil that foams (and feels like silk) coupled with an incredibly sexy floral scent.
The perfect indulgence for your bathing experience… use alone or with the man of your dreams!  Either way, it’s a romantic gesture that won’t go unnoticed (or unappreciated)!
300ml for $67.00
