Summer’s Sexiest Hairstyle

Summer’s Sexiest Hairstyle

Sun, sea, chlorine — who has time for full hair and makeup during summer months? Both we still want to look done up without actually having to do ourselves up. So we asked TRESemmé Stylist, John D, who works with celebs like Greta Gerwig and Evan Rachel Wood (he tamed both ladies tresses for the Met Ball last week), for the sexiest — and easiest — summer hairstyle for all hair types that everyone can achieve in minutes.

“Probably the easiest summer hair that is always in style is… a ponytail! Pony’s are classic and fun. And a great way to get hair off of your neck during hot summer days,” explains John. And, bonus, you can do this ‘do on wet or dry hair. John breaks down each how-to below.

“Pull hair back into a tight ponytail. Use a dollop of TRESemmé TRES Two Mousse ($5) and emulsify in palms and smooth on top of hair to really lay down any flyaways and create a soft shiny finish. If doing a bun, run mousse through pony, twist up, and pin. If you leave as a pony, you can scrunch a little mousse into the hair to create some natural waves. Once pony dries, comb out with fingers to loosen any stiffness.

For the perfect 5-minute pony, I like to spray dry shampoo all through dry hair to loosen up the texture and absorb any oils. This will make the style feel refreshed instantly. Then give the hair a good shake to distribute the product. Next, spray the TRESemmé Compressed Texture Hair Spray Hold Level 1 ($5) all over to create a soft, full, touchable texture while taming fly-aways. Then pull hair back into ponytail and secure using an elastic!
