“I always feel the need to start out by saying that I am not a minimalist by any means. I admire people that can have a minimal set of products and be set. To each their own; I like to test and try different things and my skin can handle it.

My skincare story, however, does have a not-so-glowing past. I had really well-behaved skin growing up, until I had a bad reaction from a peel I got in 2010. I was left with red, irritated, and raw skin and from there I got acne and dermatitis. My complexion looked so awful I did not want to go to work or anywhere else. I felt so embarrassed that, in my early twenties, I had skin that looked like a teenager going through puberty. It was then that I made it my mission to seek out skincare products that actually do something. All the top-rated products only seemed to make my skin worse. After about a year of trials and thousands of dollars in products, I discovered Josie Maran products and they changed my skin. I will always be loyal to the brand that truly gave me my own skin back. I hid in the shadows of social media for years before finally deciding to start my own IG account and share my journey with others last year. My philosophy on skincare is to know your own skin. Your skin will show you what it needs if you just take the time to get to know it rather than try to make everything work for you that you see others using.

I have chosen some products to talk about that I have loved for years and some that are new loves for me. But I only recommend things that do something. I cannot stand products that claim to do something and then all it does is smell nice….

Shiva Rose No. 4 Deodorant by Agent Nateur – I love that this deodorant works but doesn’t irritate my skin. Very hard to find that in a deodorant!

Bronzing Argan Oil by Josie Maran – As someone who is very pale, a bronzing product is always necessary for me. I love how natural this one is, and it is so nourishing! It gives the skin such a healthy sheen and glow.

Glossier You EDP by Glossier – A true staple in my collection! This scent just smells like all things clean with a touch of woodsy depth. I spray this on my body and then I will layer another fragrance on my clothing. I have a backup already.

Honey-Infused Hair Mask by Gisou – Gisou has completely transformed my hair. It made me realize that quality hair care can make a huge difference in the health of your hair.

C-Firma Day Serum by Drunk Elephant – The best vitamin C serum out there (in my opinion). It gives your skin a glow and brightness. It’s perfect.

D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Serum by Drunk Elephant – This is new and I am already obsessed (duh). It gives such a gorgeous color to my face without causing irritation, clogged pores, or making me look orange.

EradiKate Mask by Kate Somerville – This mask is so great for keeping your skin clear of blemishes. I use it to prevent breakouts, but if I do have a spot, then I will use this mask. It is effective but doesn’t dry the skin out or cause irritation.

Aqua Infusion Liquid by TULA – This serum has been so lovely to use during the hot summer months. It is super lightweight but packed with moisture! I have worn this on its own when I want an easy routine.

L’Eau Tan by Chanel – So this is cute. It’s basically a self-tanning body mist that is scented. I have only used it twice on my arms but it gave me a glow and smells great. It isn’t going to be a mega-tan, but it’s great for a subtle glow.

Eau Thermale Spring Water by Avene – I have become such a big fan of Avene. This water is so refreshing for dry/sensitive skin.

Dry Shampoo by Ouai – This is a major obsession of mine. It’s the perfect dry shampoo. It doesn’t cause any irritation or leave white powder behind, and it smells amazing. I apply this to the roots, let it sit for 2 minutes, then brush it out. I swear it looks and smells like freshly washed hair!

Invisible Shield SPF 35 by Glossier – I love this SPF for days when I’m indoors or just relaxing because its easy. I do use a moisturizer under it because, on its own, it is not hydrating enough for me. This is perfect if you are worried about whitecast.

GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream by Origins – Holy grail daytime eye cream. I have used this for years and will never be without it.”
