Quick Fixes For Serious Skin (and Hair) Woes

Sometimes we all need a “quickie.”  No, not that kind of quickie! We’re talking about a quick fix for cosmetic problems.  Dullness, dark circles, hair disasters, and even zits have met their match with these speedy and effective  products. When time is of the essence (and let’s be real, when is it not?), here is what we reach for:

Ever go to apply foundation and find an annoying dry patch that will inevitably ruin your look? Try First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum ($36) for optimal hydration without a hint of greasiness.  Alternately, apply it at night before your normal moisturizer; God knows we need it this winter.

Pop Sunday Riley’s Start Over Active Eye Gel Cream ($75) in your fridge to further reduce puffiness around the eyes, thanks to its metal applicator.

Alba Botanica Fast Fix for a Pimple ($6) is a lightly tinted zit zapper containing willow bark extract and sulfur to not only conceal your blemish, but actually treat it.

If a trip to the bathroom at work has you realizing that it’s not just the poor office lighting causing your skin to look drab, swipe Wander Beauty Catch The Light Highlighter ($25) on your brow and cheekbones. Simply put, you’ll look alive again.

To tighten and brighten skin before a big event or date, apply REN Flash One Minute Facial ($48).  Unlike masks that have to sit for 15 to 20 minutes, this product gets the job done in 60-seconds flat.

Sometimes our brows magically grow like crazy and we wake up with a major caterpillar situation above our eyes.  When there’s no time to get to your brow guru, try L’Oreal Brow Stylist Prep and Shape Pro ($15).  It has everything you need to get things under control, including tweezers, pigmented wax, setting powder, an angled brush, and spoolie.

For those inevitable moments when your colorist is out of town or you simply can’t find time to make it into the salon, rely on Rita Hazan Root Concealer ($25) to keep from frightening anyone who sees the top of your head!

Pores don’t discriminate amongst their victims, but one thing we all have in common is the desire to make them invisible. While that may not be possible, Peter Thomas Roth Pore Putty ($38) comes pretty damn close. Apply pre-makeup or anytime of the day you need a touch-up.

If your hair is a tangled mess when you get out of the shower, look no further than Drybar Mr. Incredible Ultimate Leave-In Conditioner ($26).  For locks that are looking dull and dead after heat styling, spray a bit in your hands and run through hair from mid-shaft to ends to quickly rectify the situation.
