Mon Shampoing: Personalized Haircare

I have an oily scalp – always have. But my ends are slightly on the dehydrated side, probably due to coloring. Finding a shampoo that works to curb the sebum production without totally drying out the rest of my hair, and then a conditioner that really moisturizes the ends, without weighing down my strands isn’t as easy as one may think. In fact, I’ve searched high and low for an effective oily scalp shampoo, to little-to-no avail. Then my cousin told me about his friend’s line of shampoos and conditioners, which are tailored to your specific concerns via bottles of essential oils that you actually pour into the shampoo and conditioner base, so that you can create the perfect recipe of product that suits your needs. My interest was piqued, and I agreed to try the product.

Let’s pause right here so I can explain my affinity for anything personalized. It’s the way of the future. Seriously. I love acting like my own chemist, and that’s exactly what Mon Shampoing, the innovative haircare line out of Paris, allows you to do.

The base shampoo and conditioner are both gentle and meant for every day use, free of SLS, parabens, and silicones; it’s what you mix into them that personalizes the formula, tailor-made for your specific hair concerns. Choose from five vials of essential oils to target said concerns (use only one vial per shampoo/ conditioner bottle) For oily hair, it’s a mix of mint, rosemary, and jojoba to target excess sebum. This is what I’ve been using in my shampoo. For colored hair, it’s orange, ylang ylang, limnanthes albaand for shine. I’m going to try this concoction next. For soft/thin/brittle hair, it’s orange blossom, sage, and grapeseed. For dry/ curly hair, it’s lavender, geranium, and argan; I’m using this in my conditioner and loving it. It really rehydrates my ends without adding excess weight. Finally, for delicate hair, it’s lemon, lemongrass, and sweet almond.

Of course, with such delicious mixtures of essential oils, the add-on customization formulas make the shampoos and conditioners smell amazing — and it’s all-natural.

Purchase the shampoo for $42 and choose your customization vial, and the conditioner for $43, which includes a customization vial as well.

Care for your hair by becoming your own chemist.
