Favorites: SPF for Face
If there’s one skincare item literally every model and celeb stands by, it’s SPF. The sun, while fun and all, is not our best friend when it comes to anti-aging. In fact, it’s probably the most damaging to our skin, above pollution and not moisturizing. Trust us, the secret to healthy, younger-looking skin is actually proper sun protection. Sun damage basically accelerates aging of the skin—wrinkles, sagginess, age spots, and, in worst case scenarios, skin cancer. (Scary stuff). So, needless to say, SPF should be as commonplace as brushing our teeth.
Sun protection isn’t necessarily going to make us pretty overnight, but it is a prerequisite for beautiful skin!
Here are some of our favorite SPFs for our faces:
Clé De Peu Beauté UV Protective Cream SPF 50+ ($130) – If you’ve ever dreamt of a luxurious sunscreen, this is it. Its smooth texture applies evenly and makes us forget we’re putting on sunscreen. Also formulated with anti-pollution ingredients, it does serious good to our complexions.
Elta MD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 ($24) – A Beauty Banter all-time favorite, this sunscreen is a no-fuzz, lightweight SPF perfect for acne-prone skin. It’s derm-approved, too.
Supergoop Skin Soothing Mineral Sunscreen SPF 40 ($28) – Skin-soothing ingredients and omegas reduce redness, irritation, and inflammation of the skin all while protecting skin from harmful UVs. A sensitive skin-loving sunscreen.
Farmacy Green Screen Daily Environmental Protector SPF 30 Sunscreen ($36) – Sun protection and anti-aging benefits in one; this sunscreen blends in clear (no white streaks or residue) and also protects skin from free radicals and environmental stressors that can lead to fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots.
Dr. Jart+ UV Sun Fluid SPF 30 ($34) – The liquid formula absorbs quickly to moisturize skin and forms a protective “shield” to block out impurities and UVs.
Clinique Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Mineral Sunscreen Fluid for Face ($26) – 100-percent mineral sunscreen means this SPF is perfect for sensitive skin. It’s lightweight and seamlessly blends into skin, forming a barrier to protect from sun damage.
