DIY: Kitchen Cabinet Hair Mask + Video!
Winter is not kind to my hair. Besides being extremely dehydrated, my strands are flat and dull and my ends are split in two (literally!). My DIY Kitchen Cabinet Hair Mask combines ingredients with reparative and hydrating properties to combat this sad seasonal woe. Any hair type can use this mask for added shine and manageability, but it is ideal for dry and damaged hair.
What You Need:
Every kitchen has ingredients that will work to rehydrate dry, brittle hair. Here are a few that you can use:
Organic Greek Yogurt
Benefits of the Ingredients:
Honey – A natural humectant that locks in moisture
Banana – vitamin-packed; immediately strengthens and adds volume, protects hair’s elasticity
Olive Oil – moisturizes and adds shine to tame flyaways and split ends
Organic Greek Yogurt – Proteins found in greek yogurt help to give hair shine, softness and manageability
Coconut Oil – Increases shine for all hair types, tames frizzes
Directions: Watch video above for directions. *Note, depending on exactly what hair concerns you have, pick and choose your concoction of ingredients. I eyeball the exact measurements, but as a rule of thumb it’s not necessary to use more than 1 banana, 1/2 avocado, 2 tbsp of olive oil and coconut oil, 1 tbsp of greek yogurt. However, alter these measurements according to hair length.
Leave mask on for 30 minutes. For added benefits, wrap in a shower cap and apply heat from a blow dryer. Shampoo and rinse out.
