Current Obsession: Body Makeup

Because we’re not all blessed with perfect skin, and many of us share common skin issues (we’re not alone ladies), our skin from head-to-toe requires TLC, too. And we’re not just talking skincare, we want our bodies to “pop,” bringing attention to our most valuable assets (wink-wink). Don’t worry about learning a whole new beauty craze, a few extra steps to our normal beauty routines is all it takes, and the results are instantaneous! Get ready to have a body party.

When applying bronzers and highlighters to the face, take the color a little south and give your collarbone, shoulders, and chest some love too. Bronzer instantly sculpts these areas, adding depth while luminizers literally make them “pop,” adding serious definition.

Lancome Star Bronzer Magic Brush ($37)
Marc Jacobs O!Mega Bronzer Perfect Tan ($49)
NYX Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator ($8) in Sun Goddess
Tarte Brighter Days Highlighting Moisturizer ($32)

The impending winter months do not mean we don’t want to flaunt sexy legs all year long. When we pull out the LBDs, we want legs to match. Self-tanners and bronzing lotions give legs color we can only imagine in the summertime, and body oils (especially ones with shimmer) define our gams, making them look longer and ready for the runway.

Nars Monoi Body Glow ($59)
The Body Shop Honey Bronze Shimmering Dry Oil ($22)
Dermablend Leg and Body Cover ($31)
L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Summer Express Wash-Off Body Makeup Lotion ($10)

Our obsession with body makeup was only made stronger when we discovered beauty products made for the body with the intended benefits of makeup. You know how we fell for BB creams way back because they gave us glowing skin? Yeah, they do the same for the body. Uneven skin tone and blotchiness are not skincare problems specific to the visage. Tackle these skin woes all over with foundations and concealers made for the body (usually thicker formulas for extended wear, and waterproof!) to cover up unsightly skin discoloration or scars without having to worry about rub-off. And body balms and bronzing lotions combine our moisturizers with skin-perfecting benefits too, so we don’t have to buy a whole new arsenal of beauty products. #Obsessed.
