Banter Babe: Carson Meyer

What’s your beauty vibe?
Natural, beachy, and low maintenance.

What’s the first beauty product you owned and loved? How old were you and why did you love it?
I remember being in third grade and tearing out a photo from Seventeen magazine of a beautiful model with beach waves, nude lipstick ,and very natural makeup. I bought Stila shimmer nude lipstick and would put it on my lips and eyelids. It was the only makeup my parents would let me get away with.

What’s your favorite beauty treatment splurge?
Silk peel facials from Lori Carhart at My Skin Evolution. I am also a big believer in massage as a beauty ritual. When you feel good, you look good!

What’s your daily makeup routine — and how long does it take?
I’m pretty quick when it comes to doing my makeup. I don’t wear too much and I usually stick to the same look. I always start with moisturizer or foundation, then protect my skin with Laura Mercier SPF Tinted Moisturizer. For eye shadow, I use either Ilia shadow sticks or Benefit Big Beautiful Eye’s palette. I line my eyes with Jane Iredale basic brown, illuminate with RMS, and if I am going out at night, I will add a bold colored Chanel lipstick.

What’s your daily skincare routine?
I wake up and rinse with water, moisturize my face with Angela Caglia’s goat milk skin soufflé or Living Libations Best Skin Ever using my Jade Roller. I always apply eye cream. I love Pure coffee; it smells so good and helps naturally reduce dark circles.

In the shower, I lather my body with my homemade organic C & The Moon brown sugar body scrub. The scrub is so moisturizing that I don’t have to moisturize after the shower.

At night I make sure my makeup is off with Klorane makeup remover and apply Kahina Argan oil to my face.

Age gracefully or filler and botox, please and thanks?
Age gracefully! I look up to my mom for her natural beauty. She lives a healthy and happy lifestyle and is always radiating youthfulness! As cliché as it sounds, there is nothing more beautiful to me than a healthy woman who is confident in her own skin.

What are your top 5, can’t-live-without beauty products?
1. Karma Hues 3 Free Nail Strengthener ($10) – Keeps my nails strong and long.
2. Mario Badescu Drying Lotion ($17) – Best pimple solution ever!
3. MD Solar Sciences Sunscreen ($30) – pure ingredients and maximum coverage.
4. C & The Moon Body Scrub – It’s like comfort food for your skin. Smells like a cookie and moisturizes my skin all day long. Most importantly, I know exactly what I am putting on my body!
5. Slip Silk pillowcase ($79) – I was told sleeping with a silk pillow was good for your skin. It could just be a wives tale but I love the way it feels so why not!

What product do you buy in bulk?
Lucas Papaw Ointment. It’s the best for chapped lips, dry cuticles, hands, etc. I make sure to have a tube on me wherever I go.

What’s your save-the-day hair product and why?
Rahua Control Crème Curl Styler. I have curly and unpredictable hair but this product allows me to let my hair air dry without frizzing up. I love the look of a good blow out, but I am lazy when it comes to beauty routines!

Who is responsible for your hair cut and color?
Chris McMillan for cut and Gabriela Canales for color.

Best piece of beauty advice you’ve received?
“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” –  Margaret Wolfe Hungerford

Who is your beauty icon, and why?
Meryl Streep, Julian Moore, Jennifer Lawrence; They are full of life, talent, and humor.

What’s your least favorite beauty trend/ look?

Too much makeup – too much plastic surgery.

If you could only do one beauty treatment on the weekly, what would it be and why?
I would love to get a weekly massage! Good for the soul.

What’s your best kept beauty secret?
Jumping into the ocean makes my eyes more blue and gives the best salty beach waves!

— Carson Meyer, actress, birth doula, and founder of C & The Moon brown sugar body scrub
