Back To Basics: Pajama Pants Aren’t Just For Bedtime
We all have days when the last thing we want to do is get out of bed, let alone put on tight jeans. Maybe it’s from a lack of sleep, feeling stressed at work, or that extra glass of rosé the night before. Whatever your reason may be, you need some options for outfits that make you feel like you just rolled out of bed, but not look like it.
Recently, celebrities like Reese Witherspoon and Minka Kelly have been spotted wearing the silk pajama pant trend while running errands. While the look can be daytime casual, it is easily upgradable for a night out as well.
For a casual look like Reese and Minka, scoop up Equipment’s Hadley Pant ($248). This style is effortlessly chic due to the subtle, yet eye-catching, houndstooth pattern. Equipment is known for their classic silk button down shirt, but trust me, their cult following silk is just as fantastic when it’s on your stems. Pair this style with the perfect white tee or tank, along with a pair of neutral d’orsay flats like Vince’s Nina Two-Piece Skimmer in Nude ($295) or white slip-on sneakers for a sporty look. You’ll be comfortable all day long without sacrificing style.
Heading out for a night out on the town with friends? Maybe even a date? If you think you have to forgo comfort for these social activities, you are mistaken. Fashion darling Hannah Bronfman attended the launch of the Fendi Soho store in easy patterned pants, but still looked stylish and pulled together. Mimic this look with the Club Monaco Mariam Pant ($150) or Piamita’s Brigitte Pant ($200, on sale!). This slouchy-soft silhouette is cropped, practically begging to be paired with a fabulous heel ala Hannah. For a sleeker look, pair these with a single sole suede pump (loving these classically chic Saint Laurent Paris Suede Pointed-Toe Pumps!) and a bold lip.
Unlike most celebrity trends, this one isn’t that hard to conquer yourself. In fact, it’s supposed to be easy, so don’t overthink it. And remember, just because you’re wearing pajama pants, doesn’t mean it’s bedtime.
