Weekly Must-Have: Oxygenetix Breathable Foundation
There’s nothing sexy about an uneven complexion — but it’s reality for many of us (including me). While we spend time – and money – getting the products and treatments to give us a #flawlesscomplexion, we may still need to cover up our efforts from time to time. That’s where Oxygenetix Breathable Foundation comes in. It’s the next best thing to the real thing; perfect skin.
Why I like it: It has major coverage but it doesn’t give you major breakouts. In fact, it’s kind of the perfect foundation for oily/ acne-prone skin as the ingredients are mild and effective for sensitive concerns (you can even use this stuff on Rosacea!) and the formula is matte (so no mid-afternoon slickness). The company also touts this foundation as ideal for post-treatments – i.e. microderm, lasers, etc. because it is so gentle. I also love the range of colors – as there are many, from the palest of pale to deep dark, and they separate their shades by blue based and yellow based (to work on cool skin tones and warm skin tones).
For applying, it’s a bit thick so I suggest applying with fingers and rubbing in until it is all blended. You also only need two pumps, at most! Wait and apply after moisturizers, sunscreens, and serums have completely soaked into skin. I then go over it with a sponge and just dab onto skin to get rid of any harsh and noticeable lines. But applying with a sponge or brush just didn’t work for me – the foundation was way too thick and noticeable. With my fingers, it looks almost like my skin — but better. I wore this the other day and a friend who I see weekly commented that my skin looked amazing!
It’s definitely expensive, the bottle is small, and it’s not great packaging. But it works, it doesn’t make me break out, and it seriously covers when other formulas seem to wipe off by day’s end. So, in my humble opinion, it’s worth every penny! It’s officially my new go-to foundation. BOOM!
