Baby, it’s cold outside! The news reported that there is a 42-state wide flu epidemic and I, unfortunately, am one of the unlucky victims of the sniffles. Sigh. My skin – and my sinus’ – just can’t seem to catch a break! Combine the brisk climate outdoors with dry, processed indoor heat and your skin is virtually a dehydrated disaster. At least mine is — or was, until I started slathering my body with Vaseline Intensive Rescue Repairing Lotion religiously.
As I wrote in a previous post, I teamed up with Vaseline and their Intensive Rescue Repairing Lotion for a winter skincare challenge. Despite the plummeting temps, Vaseline asked me to use their lotion and then take to the ice skating rink for an afternoon of fun and, ultimately, exercise (a New Year’s resolution of mine). While my calves, thighs and butt were feeling the heat (at one point I fell into a beautifully poised splits position!), my hands and feet were feeling the chill. Thanks to my constant use of the Vaseline Intensive Rescue Repairing Lotion, however, I left the rink with my skin in-tact. No scales, no additional dry spells, just soft, smooth and moisturized skin. And yes, I skate with red lips!
But then I got home – my heat blasting – and my sinus’ started dripping again. TMI? Possibly, but I’m sure you’ve been slapped with a cold before too. While a decongestant came to the rescue of the mucus, my skin began to dry up like a prune again. So I turned to my trusted Vaseline Intensive Rescue Lotion and applied on hands, chest, stomach, legs and feet and within minutes I was completely hydrated, and my skin did not feel the least bit sticky or greasy. I now sleep with this stuff by my bed. It’s affordable and it works, through wind, ice, and a few space heaters. Next on my shopping list – a humidifier!
Now it’s time for you to experience a winter without dehydration…

I love winter but not in the city
my fav sport is of course snowboarding, feel free and wild for this moment when you descent. I also like to run but when it’s really cold I’ll just walk by the seaside. https://twitter.com/_frenchcookie/status/291464817150160896

I love to walk on the beach during the winter.. it’s a complete opposite feel of summertime but the crisp sea air and clean beaches are a reminder that summer will come soon!

Running outdoors in the snow! Yes, it’s freezing. Yes, it’s tough, but the looks of astonishment on people’s face when you pass by makes it alllllll worth it! That, and it’s a great workout
