Trending: The Gilded Look

No longer solely reserved for New Year’s Eve, gold cosmetic details are having a major moment. Inspired by Pat McGrath’s Gold 001 pigment (now sold out…sigh), we scoured the internet aisles for gilded alternatives for your face, nails, and even your hair. People may claim that it’s their green juice giving them that coveted glow, but the secret’s out. These are some of the best products that promise to offer that ethereal gilded goddess look to your hair and makeup (yes, this trend can be subtle or dramatic – you decide!).

EYES

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour ($28) in Rose Gold will add depth and dimension to your eyelid without making a bold statement. Better yet, the creaseless formula stays put all.day.long.

Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner ($23) in Diamond Gold makes black cat eyes totally blasé.  Although definitely a statement look, we love this product for a fancy night out.

SKIN

Becca Shimmer Skin Perfector ($41) in Moonstone is the softest shade of pale gold.  A touch on your cheekbones will give a polished radiance so that you look like yourself, but way better!

A base with pure 24-k gold flakes? Yes, please. Guerlain L’Or Primer ($74) is a hydrating and smoothing gel that gives serious glow.  Think of it as jewelry for your face…

LIPS

Yves Saint Laurent Gloss Volupté ($32) in 1 Gold will take the most matte and flat lip color to high-shine and high-shimmer faster than you can say “glow.”  Keep it in your purse in case you unexpectedly need to take your look up a notch or two.

Burberry Kisses Festive Gold Lipstick ($33) is a total must for the upcoming holiday party circuit. One swipe is all you need to look fresh and festive.

NAILS

Smith & Cult Nail Polish ($18) in Shattered Souls can be worn alone, or as a top coat your favorite lacquer color to add some serious bling.

Deborah Lippman Nail Polish ($18) in Glamorous Life allows you to wear this trend in  a more subtle (read: office appropriate) way.

HAIR

Drybar Gold Mine Shimmering Leave-In Conditioner ($29) conditions and detangles, while superfine mica imparts an amazing shimmery effect.  Don’t worry, this is anything but the hair glitter you favored in the ’90s.

Sally Hershberger 24K Get Gorgeous Stylepro Shampoo ($32) is enriched with 24K pure Gold Elixir for serious hydration and shine. And everyone knows, shiny strands equals healthy hair.
