#TBT: Hair Wraps
Just in time for the end of Burning Man (aka hair accessory central), we’re throwing it back to the hair wrap trend that our preteen self adored. Whether we got a professional wrap at the mall or DIYed it with a kit at a sleepover, hair wraps were a way to express our individuality (namely, that boho, hippy-chic sensibility).
Today, we still turn to hair accessories as a mode of personal expression, but that usually means opting for less literal wrapped up styles to adorn our manes.
In addition to wipes, Purell, face mist, cutoff shorts, and fanny packs, accoutrements for our locks are essentially a must-have for festival fashion. Here are our favorites:
If you’re really hoping to play up the hippy-dippy vibe of Burning Man, Maurices Hair Clip with Seven Feathers ($10) is for you.
Some playful (non-permanent!) colored streaks are sure to make a statement in the 100 Instagram photos you will inevitably upload: Dipptiy Do Hair Chalk Colorkit ($7).
Looking for a flower crown that will last longer than a day? Invest in the Jennifer Behr Contessa Swarovski Crystal-Embellished Gold-Plated Headband ($630) to wear time and time again.
Manic Panic Microc Glam Strip Neon Hair Extensions ($5) are a little Madonna, a little trashy, and a whole lot of fun.
Worried about keeping cool in the desert? We would be too. Tie your locks back with JAKIMAC Leather Ponytail Wrap ($35).
Aspirational Game of Thrones-Princess vibes are easy to achieve with the Rosantica Acero Gold-Tone, Feather and Quartz Headband ($340).
