Style: Straw For Summer
Now that Summer is here it ushers in that eternal conflict of sun worship versus sun protection. And though slathering on the sun block is always the most fool proof means of protection, there is no reason you can’t add a chicer option. The straw hat. I had never been a big hat person until last Summer, after years of shunning this hair muddling accessory I caved.
I bought a Rag and Bone fedora style straw hat and for countless sunny months it was my accessory of choice. The straw hat is great because it is light weight and less constricting than felt or wool. It allows you all the benefits of this outfit topping accessory without the not so desirable cons of oppressive heat and hair matting. My two favorite styles are a wide brim for sun bathing and beach hopping, and a fedora for everyday and everything. Summer started early in Los Angeles this year, but with my new sun hats, I’m ready for the heat.
