Makeup Bag:
Alex Asher Sears

“When I was little, my sister and I loved hanging around the makeup trailer wherever we were on location with my dad making a film. I loved playing with makeup then and still do. About seven years ago, I found out that of 1100 chemicals banned from beauty products by the European Union, eleven are banned in th US. Eleven. I didn’t like those statistics. With multiple food allergies, I’m a big label reader, and when I started to look into what was in my lipsticks and shampoos and moisturizers, I decided to make big changes.

Now, 90% of my skin, hair care …

J’adore Dior

On my recent jaunt to Paris, I had the pleasure of going as a guest of Dior Beauty for the launch of the Dior Addict Extreme Lipstick (my favorite Brit, Kate Moss, just so happens to be the face of the collection). My three day Dior stay was equal parts educational, inspiring, and extremely pampering (an hour and a half L’Ore de Vie facial and massage at the Dior Institut in the Plaza Athenee – I highly, highly recommend as this is pampering at its finest!).

The Brushes

If I’ve learned anything in my 7+ years in the beauty industry, it’s that the tools you use really do make the difference. You can own the most luxe makeup on the market (think Cle de Peau or Chanel), but if you are applying with merely Q-tips or applicators that come in your compacts, you’re missing out on the real beauty of the product. That’s not to say that there is never a time to use a Q-tip to apply eye-makeup (in fact, I love using Q-tips when I create the under-line in a smoky eye), but as with all rules, think of these …

HOW TO:
Wide Eyes

After a late night, I tend to wake up with eyes that appear tired and abnormally small. Here are a few tricks to create the illusion of bigger, brighter and wider eyes. This is also a great and quick, barely-there application process for ladies whose eyes may be a bit too close together for their liking. It’s all about creating illusions – being a makeup magician…
