After a late night, I tend to wake up with eyes that appear tired and abnormally small. Here are a few tricks to create the illusion of bigger, brighter and wider eyes. This is also a great and quick, barely-there application process for ladies whose eyes may be a bit too close together for their liking. It’s all about creating illusions – being a makeup magician…
Products I Used:
Concealer – Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer No.04 Medium
Neutral Shadow – Clinique Lid Smoothie 01 Bit ‘O Honey
Neutral Brown Shadow – MAC Matte Eyeshadow in Handwritten
Mascara – Lancome High Definicils in Black
Shimmer Highlighter – Topshop Glow Highlighter in Polished
Step 1 – Using a concealer sponge, apply concealer over the entire lid of the eye and under the eye. Blend into the skin.
Step 2 – Use a neutral, bone shadow and apply from lash line to brow bone. Extend out about one centimeter from the outer most corner of your eye.
Step 3 – Using a neutral toned brown shadow (deep taupe or light brown), apply a thin line (almost like filling in between the lashes) starting at outer corners of the upper lash line and draw inward. Stop at the middle of your eye. Make sure to blend down into your lashes with a q-tip or your finer. It should be so faint, it looks like it barely exists.
Step 4 – Apply a dark brown or black mascara to upper lashes, starting from outer corner until middle of lash line. Make sure that the mascara is thicker on the outer lashes.
Step 5 – Take a shimmering cream highlighter and apply a dot on outer and inner corners of the eye. Dab up and out until absorbed. For extra width, dab the cream shimmer on the inner bridge of your nose.
*The key is the cream shimmer – it attracts light to both the outer and inner corners making them seem wider apart (and the entire eye area brighter!).
