Favorite Lip Savers

Lips really do seem to get the brunt of winter’s brutal climate. And when the weather is finicky  - one day cold and dry, the next day windy and warmer – lips suffer. In light of spring’s emergence (even if it doesn’t feel like spring), I’ve grouped together my favorite dry lip savers. From the ultimate hydrating balms to delicious lip scrubs, these are products that every woman should carry in her beauty bag of tricks.

By Terry Rose Balm ($59) – One of my new favorite lip protectors, this cult-classic rose balm nourishes, soothes, protects, and plumps! Plus, it leaves an ever-so-subtle sheer pink finish without ever being gooey. Use it on cuticles too!

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick Sunscreen SPF 15 ($20) – Like the coveted Eight Hour Cream, this stick – exclusively for lips – will keep the mouth hydrated and smooth. And I love that it applies like a lipstick – no germs transferring here!

Kaplan MD Lip 20 Mask ($48) – Slough away dead skin with this luxurious lip mask that will leave your pout smooth and flake-free. Hyaluronic Acid intensely hydrates while Papaya Enzymes exfoliate.

Rodial Glam Balm Lips ($25) – The ultimate in plumping and moisturizing! Filling Spheres inject volume to fill fine lines while rose wax, shea butter and vitamin E soothe and protect.

Sara Happ The Lip Scrub Vanilla Bean Lip Exfoliator ($24) – A long favorite of mine, this lip scrub will remove all remnants of flakey lips. The result is a smooth, silky and moisturized pout.

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 ($23) – Although these treatments come with a hint of hue, when dryness takes over, you want a balm that gives nothing but moisture. This nourishing color free formula combines sugar to lock in moisture, meadowfoam and black currant seed oils hydrate and vitamins to protect against fine lines.

Rosebud Perfume Co. Minted Rose Lip Balm ($6) – A much more affordable alternative to By Terry’s Rose Balm, Rosebud’s Minted Rose uses rose oil to nourish lips and peppermint to soothe. It won’t plump like By Terry’s but it will keep lips hydrated with a subtle sheer pink hue.

Lip balms should always be present in your purse during cold seasons. Do not let your lips get damaged by the cold air. I personally love Elizabeth Arden’s eight hour cream. It really works plus it protects your lips for a long time.

I have super thin lips and want to try a lip plumper. Thanks for sharing the dry lips savers. Now I can choose between By Terry and Rodial Glam Lip Balms.
