Blushing Bronze

There’s a new blush trend in town and it’s all about accenting the golden hue. Forgo the bubblegum pinks and rich berries of yesteryear and stick to summer’s sun-kissed shade of gold. A hybrid of bronzer and blush, the blushing bronze trend imparts a peachy-golden glow to cheeks which gives a more natural look while also nicely sculpting the bone structure. Feel free to skip the contour, and double up on the bronzer/ blushes to achieve the right amount of shading and flush. And, since every skin tone has a slight hint of orange, this peach-based shade is a universal complexion pleaser!

We’re obsessed with layering a cream formula under a powder for maximum staying power, then finishing it off with a golden highlighter for an added kick of inner-golden glow.

Tom Ford Cream Cheek Color in Pieno Sole ($68) – Layer this oil-free cream formula to create a natural wash of shimmery bronzed cheek color.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Golden Nude ($28) – Long-lasting powder blush that offers a natural, sun-kissed hue suitable for almost all skin tones. Amazonian clay absorbs oils, so this is an ideal formula for oily/ acne-prone skin types.

Laura Mercier Baked Blush Bronze in Ritual ($40) – A bronze-y, coppery, goldish shade that’ll give cheeks a warm healthy burst of color.

Tarte Park Avenue Princess Bronze & Glow Matte Bronzer & Cheek Tint ($10) – This mousse-formula cheek tint takes the coveted color of one of Tarte’s most esteemed products: The Park Avenue Princess Bronzer. Apply to apples of cheeks for that lust-worthy peachy, golden glow.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Topaz ($38) – A shimmery golden-bronze cream-powder highlighter that can be added to cheeks for a natural hint of sun-kissed color, or layer over a more pigmented bronzed blush for a “high-shine finish.”

Glossier Haloscope in Topaz ($22) – Like the above, this cream highlighter (aptly dubbed the same color – topaz) imparts a healthy golden glow onto cheeks. It’s like an inner shimmer that only a great tan can create, but we’re faking it! Use alone for a hint of hue or layer for a highlighted, glowy finish.
